Piqua, Ohio (November 15, 2010) - As one of Piqua's oldest manufacturing companies, The French Oil Mill Machinery Company, is the featured company on the fourth, in a series of collectible, "Made in Piqua" ornaments. The brass ornament features the front of the French building and a French hydraulic press.
The "Made in Piqua" ornament series was started to honor Piqua's landmark companies. Each ornament comes in a blue box that was especially produced for the project by Piqua Paper Box Company. The cost per ornament is $12.
Mainstreet Piqua's Director, Lorna Swisher, who coordinated the project, says the French family was intimately involved in the design of the ornament. "Nobody knows the French family product and business better than they do so we reached out to the French's to help us design this wonderful Piqua collectible." says Swisher.
Daniel P. French, Chairman and President of French, commented, "The French Oil Mill Machinery Company is honored to be featured on the 2010 Made In Piqua ornament. We are proud to have been in business in Piqua for over 110 years. We support Mainstreet Piqua's mission and are pleased that the proceeds of the French ornament will continue to fund improvements that positively promote our community."
Swisher adds, "We appreciate the cooperation of Piqua Paper Box Company with this project. We thought it was very important to have a "Made in Piqua" ornament that could be purchased in a box that was made in Piqua."
